Welcome to Ludlow Farm shop, the new name for Ludlow Food Centre and a one-of-a-kind food shopping experience in the heart of Shropshire. Bringing farming, food production and retail together under one roof, Ludlow Farmshop offers visitors the chance to discover where their food comes from and see many of the products being made right in front of them.

The story of Ludlow Farm shop began with a simple idea: to create a shop where produce from the surrounding farms and land could be brought together and sold. Today, that same principle remains at the heart of everything we do.

From Farm to Farmshop

Ludlow Farmshop is part of the Earl of Plymouth’s Oakly Park Estate, which extends across approximately 8,000 acres of Shropshire countryside. Of this, around 6,500 acres are farmed in hand, giving us a close connection to the land and the food we produce.

A huge part of what makes Ludlow Farmshop different is that we don’t simply sell food – we produce it too.

More than half of the products sold at the farmshop are made on site in our production units surrounding the shop floor. This means you can see some of our skilled artisan producers at work through the glass windows as they make food by hand.

A True Shropshire Food Experience

We are passionate about showcasing the fantastic food produced in Shropshire and the surrounding area. Around 80% of the food sold at Ludlow Farmshop comes from Shropshire and its neighbouring counties, helping us maintain a strong connection to local producers and the wider farming community.

From fresh meat and dairy products to artisan food made on site, there’s plenty to discover as you explore the farmshop.

Our approach is all about knowing where our food comes from and celebrating the people, farms and producers behind it.

Estate-Reared Meat and Dairy

The Oakly Park Estate plays an important role in the food available at Ludlow Farmshop.

Our beef, lamb and Gloucester Old Spot pork all come from our own farm, allowing us to have a direct connection between the land, the animals and the food that reaches the shop.

The estate is also home to a herd of wild fallow deer, while wild game is available at certain times of the year. Milk produced on the farm is used to create our own cheese and dairy products, providing another example of how the farm and food production sides of the business work together.

See Your Food Being Made

One of the unique aspects of Ludlow Farm shop is the opportunity to see behind the scenes.

The production areas surrounding the shop floor are visible through glass windows, giving visitors a glimpse of our artisan producers as they work. Rather than food simply appearing on the shelves, you can see the skill, care and craftsmanship that goes into making many of the products we sell.

We’ve created more windows into these production areas because we believe it’s important for people to understand how their food is made.

It’s a chance to see traditional skills and modern food production come together while shopping for something delicious to take home.

Ludlow Farmshop is designed to be more than somewhere to pick up your weekly groceries. It’s an experience that brings together the different stages of food production, from farming and rearing animals through to producing, preparing and selling food.

Our connection to the Oakly Park Estate means farming is at the heart of what we do, while our on-site production units allow us to turn that produce into a wide variety of products.

This unique combination gives visitors an insight into the journey their food takes from the land to the shop.
